workshop is designed for women in health care and movement arts professions
| "Battle
belly bulge! Attack your abs!" Our culture assaults women's bellies, casting
them as shameful. We often respond by withdrawing our awareness. Yet other
cultures around the world have known the body's center as our connection to Source
Energy. In
this workshop you'll begin to experience your body's center as the site of your
soul-power and help your clients do the same. In
a warm and friendly setting, we'll - understand
the significance of honoring and energizing the body's center for developing body
confidence and self-validation

five core power-centering practices
- become
familiar with five principles that can point the way to core values
- experience
four methods for releasing body shame, deepening awareness into the bodyÕs center,
and reconciling the mind-belly relationship

| Lisa
Sarasohn is
a yoga therapist, health educator, and bodywork therapist with 25 years' experience
in the healing arts. She is certified as a Kripalu Yoga instructor at the advanced
level and as a Kripalu Bodywork practitioner. During
seven years on staff at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, MA, she trained
yoga teachers and bodywork therapists for professional practice. During and since
that time, she has conducted her own practice in yoga and bodywork therapy.
Lisa's essays and articles on various aspects of bodywork therapy have appeared
in journals including Natural Health, Yoga Journal, Radiance,
Personal Transformation. She has presented workshops at learning centers
including Omega Institute, the Sufi School of Healing, and the Renfrew Center's
conference on preventing and treating eating disorders. Her book, The
Woman's Belly Book, is receiving international acclaim. |
